![]() ![]() The small window opens onto the lobby area, so not alot of privacy and can be noisy! A suggestion would be to have a bin in the room as well for rubbish, as the bin in the bathroom is for your toilet paper (cannot put toilet paper in the toilet) and can be quite gross (luckily it was cleaned each day!). It's also a bit dilapidated with wires sticking out and fittings that are loose. The room was a good size and pretty basic and looked clean enough, but there was lots of mould everywhere in the shower, and on roof. Eggs were good and freshly squeezed orange juice was amazing. Breakfast was average - had very stale bread the one morning and weird coffee. She did look tired though and we felt sorry for her - think she was the only one there and did all the cleaning and check in and got up early to make breakfast specially for us. The owner / hostess Rosa was very nice and helpful - she always greeted us with a smile and asked how we were. On Monday morning on our way out they had a very loud band / procession practice that went on for ages - entertaining if you are not sleeping! The alley can be a bit noisy as it echoes, but keeping the window closed helped. Luckily we were there over the weekend, so had no noise from the school right behind the hostal. We were on the first floor and had amazing views of the mountains at the back. It faces the river and all the resturants and Machu Picchu bus stop is close by. This hotel is right in town, about 2 min easy walk from the train station and market. I will say that the woman who runs the hotel is very nice. All travelers should go to Aguas with no expectations - it is not a pretty town and services are bad. I wouldn't stay here again, but I think you can do worse. Why in the world are they putting people in the same dingy and dirty room, when they have a clean and updated room available? Something didn't seem right with this, it was so strange. We noticed that a new group had been put in our old dirty room (201) - but this clean room 101 was empty and used only for storage. When we came back for our left luggage after Machu Picchu, we found that it was being stored in a very clean and updated looking room (I believe it was room 101). Breakfast was available at 5am which was nice, but it was pretty sparse - some bread and a single small plate of eggs for 2 of us to share. The sheets on the beds had stains and our room just felt dirty. The shower had mold in it and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. ![]() The small cafe which enclosed with this hotel has the best Pisco sour ever in Machu Picchu, and the price was fairly cheaper than other Pisco sour in this area.We stayed here for one night before taking the 5:30am bus to Machu Picchu. Overall, a decent place to stay while visiting Machu Picchu. If you don’t mind the basic facilities, this place would be a great choice for you to rest and prepare to witness the great Machu Picchu. ![]() But, they will try to make you feel like home as they can. The staffs were the brightest point for this hotel, they were lovely and nice but unable to communicate in a proper English (need a translation program to communicate with them). Inside, I really like the comfy bed, however the shower room was quite small, the hot water was not functioned properly( have to wait for a while for some hot water) As a solo traveller, the room was quite spacious enough for I. The hotel or B&B has provided some basic facilities for guest. The hotel is located near a train station, and close to the bus terminal of Machu Picchu.
